OK. VIDEO – SUB/VERSION
Jakarta International Video Festival 2005
July 18 – 31, 2005
Galeri Nasional Indonesia, Jakarta
This second OK.Video Festival was successfully held by ruangrupa in July 2005 at the National Gallery of Indonesia-Jakarta. The programs that were successfully held were: exhibitions, video art projects in 3 cities, artist talks, and seminars held at the National Gallery. In its second implementation, it is OK.
The video festival has relatively no difficulty in getting support from the media (print, radio, television and internet). This is due to the success of organizing the first festival. On the other hand, we still find it difficult to get financial support from local institutions/organizations and companies, simply because this festival is far from their target or commercial orientation. In 2005, OK.Video managed to collect and archive approximately 200 national and international video titles.
OK.Video has also succeeded in establishing cooperative relationships with many similar organizations and festivals in the international art field. A compilation of Indonesian video works in OK.Video participates in several international festivals Prog:Me, Rio De Janeiro-Brazil, KO.Video – Durban-South Africa, Electrofringe, Sydney-Australia, Spaces and Shadows, and Berlin-Germany.
This second festival in addition to attracting many visitors from within the country also received welcome from several countries in Asia Pacific, visitors also came from Australia, Japan, and Malaysia. Total festival visitors 3000 people
