Dito Yuwono will showcase its artistic presentation after a month doing research over the practice of itinerant photographer at the Monumen Nasional (Monas). In the research process, he found out some things that affect the existence of such photographers as one element that exists in relation to the tourism industry. This project is a continuation of similar research work he did in Kaliurang, Yogyakarta. At that time, he gathered the sheets of polaroid belongs to one of the photographers and host it back as an attempt to re-read their tracks in Kaliurang.
This project is one of the efforts that are interesting enough to be noticed, especially in understanding photography as a thing that had an important relationship with other social elements. Dito, who is also a member of a group of Yogyakarta contemporary photography — Ruang MES56, try to find other things in photography that are not merely technical. Recollecting Memory: Itinerant Photographers will feature Dito’s perspective in reading of human behavior in relation to photography. He established himself as an observer of situations that affect the working practices of the photographer in the monument. What are the things that now affects their practice? How to do with official government bureaucracy?
